What’s your Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵAPPexperience?
My Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵAPPexperience was truly transformative. The personal growth and development I experienced, alongside the lifelong connections I made, are nothing short of incredible. Looking back, I realize just how deeply I was welcomed into a close-knit family, and the unique opportunities Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵAPPoffered have stayed with me long after graduation. Even now, I stay engaged with the university through social media, keeping in touch with my classmates and maintaining strong connections with faculty and staff who continue to reach out.

What’s your favorite Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵAPPmemory?
My favorite memory has to be competing in Maryville’s homecoming competition.

What are you doing now?
I recently graduated with my MA in higher education student affairs personnel and am currently serving as the Program Coordinator for Student Organization Advisement at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.

Additional goals and aspirations?
I aspire to become deeply involved in various community-based organizations and serve as a pillar of positivity and hope within my community. My goal is to continue dedicating my time to community service while becoming more active in mentorship programs that uplift young Black men in the St. Louis Metropolitan area. I want to provide them with the guidance, wisdom, and career readiness skills they need to achieve their goals and aspirations, and offer the additional support that will help them overcome challenges and thrive.

How did your education and experience at Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵAPPhelp you?
Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵAPPis an institution that truly fosters an environment where learning extends beyond the classroom. Academically, my experience at Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵAPPset me apart—my proficiency in various concepts and my ability to apply that knowledge to both postgraduate studies and my career were far ahead of many of my peers from other universities. In addition to academics, the cultural competency, leadership, and advocacy skills I developed through programs like the Multicultural Scholars Program, and by holding executive positions in various student organizations were invaluable. These experiences not only shaped my education but also equipped me with the tools to make a meaningful impact in my community.

Words of wisdom for today’s students?
Your collegiate experience is what you make it. Always acknowledge the past, maximize today, and change the future.
