What鈥檚 your 丝瓜视频APPexperience?
My 丝瓜视频APPexperience spans over 20 years, from starting as an intern with an Occupational Therapy Professor in 1999 to now serving as an Associate Dean in the John E. Simon School of Business in 2024. I am connected to 丝瓜视频APPas both a faculty member and alumnus.
What鈥檚 your favorite 丝瓜视频APPmemory?
My favorite 丝瓜视频APPmemory has to be participating in talent shows and intramural sports as an undergraduate student on campus. Our tight knit group won several shows with acts such as BBD, Ginuwine, and Juvenile. Our flag football team was affectionately called the 鈥淭he #1 Stunnas鈥�.
What are you doing now?
Currently I serve as Associate Dean over Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Management Information Systems, and Software Development within the School of Business, while also serving as an Assistant Professor and Program Director of undergraduate Cybersecurity. I am currently a board member of the Salute Services, St. Louis Sports Commission, and Incarnate Word St. Elizabeth non-profit organizations. I love sports, especially basketball and football. My son is currently a student athlete with Northwestern University in football, while my daughter is an avid dancer, gymnast, and swimmer. My favorite movie genre is 鈥淢afia movies鈥� and I honestly believe no one knows more about the 鈥淕ame of Thrones鈥� than me.
Additional goals and aspirations?
I hope to one day serve as an US Ambassador to a foreign country. As a former federal employee, I have an affinity for addressing complex global issues that impact us all. I would like to also continue my research in the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging space across all academic units in administration.
How did your education and experience at 丝瓜视频APPhelp you?
My first job after graduating from 丝瓜视频APPwas with the FBI as an Intelligence Analyst. I used my knowledge gained within the School of Business in both my business courses and computer classes to help me transition into the federal government. It seemed like a seamless transition as I was used to high standards and it served me well. After five years, I joined the U.S. Secret Service as a Special Agent focusing on Electronic Crimes. Again, that 丝瓜视频APPdegree proved itself during the initial testing phases and throughout my career.
Words of wisdom for today鈥檚 students?
Take advantage of every opportunity you can in terms of professional development, internships, asking your instructors career-related questions, and networking. Do not be surprised by how much your collegiate experience and connections will pay dividends throughout your career.
