Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵAPP’s League of Legends and Overwatch Esports Teams both captured the 2019 Harrisburg University Esports (HUE) Invitational title. The HUE Invitational is one of the largest collegiate esports events in the U.S. with 64 teams from 30 schools competing.
“Winning the HUE Invitational is a great way to start our 2019-2020 season and is a good omen for what’s to come later this year,” said Dan Clerke, Maryville’s director of esports. “The win also gives our student-athletes something to rally around and a reminder of what they are capable of achieving.”

For League of Legends, Ethan “Iconic” Wilkinson boasted a consistently stellar performance and was a driving factor in the team’s success. For Overwatch, Parker “Aether” Lewis had a great tournament and outshined his counterparts in every match up.
“It means a lot to know that both of our teams’ hard work is translating into results,” said Andrew Smith, Maryville’s assistant director of esports. “It was also exciting to sweep Harrisburg on their home turf. With the win comes a sense of accomplishment and pride — especially for keeping our position at the top in the collegiate scene.”
