Ë¿¹ÏÊÓÆµAPP is launching nine new technology-centered online certificate programs to help students prepare for some of the most in-demand and lucrative career opportunities on the market.<\/p>\n
These standalone credentials represent a parallel path for students who aren\u2019t necessarily seeking a full college degree but want to upskill, reskill or advance in their careers.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve spoken with employers and employees across industries, and it\u2019s clear that the workforce is changing,\u201d said Jennifer Yukna, PhD, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. \u201cPeople hoping to grow professionally, or shift careers entirely, need more options to help them build skills to keep up and become job-ready, quickly.\u201d<\/p>\n
There are seven certificates available for students seeking college credit. The bachelor\u2019s and post-baccalaureate certificate programs can be completed in approximately five or six courses:<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s Level (college credit)<\/strong> Post-Baccalaureate Level (college credit)<\/strong> In addition, Ë¿¹ÏÊÓÆµAPP is launching two digital business-focused certificates through a partnership with Pearson Advance, an online platform that brings learners easy access to flexible online courses and certificates run by top universities around the nation. These non-credit certificate programs can be completed in as few as 10 weeks:<\/p>\n 1. Digital Marketing<\/a> Designed with input from employers in the field and taught by experienced practitioners, the new certificate programs aim to get students career-ready so they can take advantage of the many opportunities in the growing field.<\/p>\n According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment in fields related to computer science is projected to grow 11% between 2019 and 2029 \u2014 nearly three times the average growth projected across all industries.<\/p>\n The new online certificates build on nearly 150 years of academic excellence at Ë¿¹ÏÊÓÆµAPPand a tradition of innovation.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have always understood that education isn\u2019t one-size-fits-all,\u201d said Katherine Louthan, Dean of the School of Adult and Online Education. \u201cDifferent students have different circumstances and considerations, and Ë¿¹ÏÊÓÆµAPPis committed to being as inclusive and accommodating as possible. Our certificate programs underscore that mission, serving as alternative paths to meet learners where they are \u2014 and help them reach their career goals.\u201d<\/p>\n
